Was Jesus Christ Left-handed?

All those experts that have studied the Shroud of Turin (the most studied artifact in history) have failed to mention time after time that the image on the Shroud has the left hand crossed over on top of the right hand!

If, as is suggested, that Jesus Christ is the image on the Shroud, then he was put to rest with his dominant hand on top, and in all likelihood was left-handed!

I wonder why the experts wouldn't mention that Jesus Christ might be left-handed? Or at least mention that the Shroud has an image with a left hand in a dominant position.

If Jesus Christ were not left-handed, it is completely unlikely that his followers would have folded his hands opposite to the anti-left beliefs of the Middle East! This region is, and has always been, one of the most anti left-handed regions in history.

If his followers followed the wishes of a left-handed Messiah, then they would have folded it with the left hand on top as they did, ... or did they go against his beliefs and desecrate his body by placing the left hand in a position of dominance?

The latter would have been a conspiracy of desecration. This is completely contrary to the beliefs of that part of the world and seems unlikely, yet possible.

Or, if the image on the Shroud, is as many believe, the posed image of the ultimate Renaissance man (and fellow left-hander), Leonardo Da Vinci, then it makes sense why he would pose with his dominant hand on top. Any true left-hander would place their own left hand on top if they were simulating death.

Although, another question regarding Da Vinci might be ... Is this another clue in the Da Vinci Code not yet mentioned, and very likely overlooked?

So the choices are simple,

1) Jesus Christ is the image on the Shroud of Turin and is left-handed!

2) Jesus Christ is the image on the Shroud and was desecrated by his followers!

3) Left-hander Leonardo Da Vinci is the image on the Shroud and he posed naturally.

4) A left-handed unknown individual is the image on the Shroud.

5) The experts can't tell which side is the up side of the Shroud.

Isn't it interesting that a left-hander noticed it? When all the experts have looked at it, and run out of ideas, then it's time for a left-hander to look at it. We see things that right-handers miss.

What a brilliant insight that all the professionals and authorities have overlooked. I imagine most people wouldn't have looked that closely at the Shroud of Turin to have seen this, but the professionals have studied it more than anything else and they didn't see it either. Impressive observation. How could so many have overlooked this? The implications of this are enormous. A left-hander saw it when others were blind to it. I'm proud to be left-handed!

How many other important things are there that are overlooked by the experts? I think this author is very perceptive and it is amazing that he noticed the Left-handed Shroud. I've recently read his book, "How To Be A Better Left-hander", and I highly recommend it! The same brilliant insight. Very interesting. Lefty's rule.

How can the "experts" answer this amazing observation? Mr. Borthwick has great insight and his book "How to be a better Left-hander" is equally as interesting as this article.

I've never heard of this before. The image IS left-handed. The real question is who is the image of? Pretty smart of Mr. B to notice that, especially with all of those experts looking at the Shroud. It looks like one left-hander can spot another left-hander.

This observation shows great awareness, much more than the experts who have studied this object. I am very impressed and respect this author for paying attention to the smallest yet highly relevant details well beyond what the experts should have done. This amazing observation shouldn't be overlooked, and should be addressed by those so-called experts.
Well done sir.

I'm quoting someone else's response to the same observation :"If the image is considered to be produced by bodily contact with the inside of the shroud, then it’s reversed (like a rubber stamp), and the right hand is actually on top." That's all !

YES...Jesus was indeed left-handed.

In all of my 63 years of life...I neither questionned -- nor did it ever occur to me -- whether Jesus was right- or left-handed until today, Sunday, July 31, 2011. I experienced a VERY UNUSUAL AND SUDDEN THOUGHT that came to me after I received Communion at Mass today at my Catholic parish.

The sudden thought after receiving Communion was quite weird and I felt VERY compelled to search the internet on the right-left hand question -- and to find out if there was any question or research on this topic.

I have ALWAYS felt the PHYSICAL presence of Jesus at my right side after receiving Communion -- ALWAYS since I was seven. Jesus ALWAYS wrapped his LEFT arm around my shoulder after each Communion. This was an experience that I think most Catholics have not felt. I always felt blessed with Jesus' presence since I received my first Communion at age seven.

To my surprise, I discovered today on intenet that research was done...somehow I missed this when I read a research book on the Shroud of Turin. I even viewed the Shroud on display in Italy last year...and completely missed the fact that Jesus' left hand was placed over his right hand at burial. (I believe the Shroud is a true relic.)

I believe that Jesus was left-handed -- he wraps his left arm around me every time I received Communion.
